Crude oil prices fell on October 9, 2026, after US President Donald Trump said Washington would not attack Iran before the November midterm elections, easing concerns about further disruptions to global oil supplies. Brent crude futures declined 1.3% to $102.91 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 1.2% to $90.40. Prices had surged around 4% in the previous session amid Middle East tensions and supply concerns linked to Hurricane Isaias in the Gulf of Mexico. Traders are now monitoring US-Iran negotiations and potential disruptions to oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
