Story HighlightsEthereum price falls below $2,400 as a broader cryptocurrency sell-off puts pressure on ETH and other risk assets.
Continued outflows from spot Ether ETFs and weakening institutional demand have added to bearish sentiment.
ETH faces a critical test near $2,355, while reclaiming $2,400 is essential to strengthen the short-term recovery outlook.
Ethereum (ETH) has slipped below the $2,400 psychological support level as selling pressure spreads across cryptocurrency and technology markets. On October 22, broader risk aversion weighed on digital assets, with Bitcoin also falling below $82,000 and Ethereum declining nearly 4%. Persistent withdrawals from spot Ether exchange-traded funds have added another headwind, raising concerns about institutional demand. With ETH losing a key price threshold, traders are now watching whether buyers can defend lower support levels or whether the breakdown triggers another leg down.
Ethereum ETF Outflows Add Pressure as Institutional Demand Weakens
One of the major concerns for Ethereum bulls is the persistent weakness in spot Ether ETF flows. Recent data showed substantial withdrawals from US-listed Ether investment products, contrasting with stronger inflows into Bitcoin funds.
On October 20, US spot Ether ETFs recorded approximately $26.13 million in net outflows, while Bitcoin ETFs attracted around $23.17 million. Ether products also experienced sustained withdrawals over the preceding weeks, reflecting weaker investor appetite for ETH exposure.
Continued redemptions can weigh on sentiment, particularly when prices are already struggling to hold important support levels. However, ETF outflows alone do not determine Ethereum’s direction. Broader market conditions, derivatives positioning and spot buying activity will also influence whether ETH stabilizes or extends its decline.
Ethereum Price Analysis: Can ETH Defend the $2,350 Support?
Ethereum’s fall below $2,400 puts the spotlight on nearby support levels as traders assess the risk of further downside.
Immediate support: $2,350. This is an important technical area to monitor based on recent chart analysis. A sustained break below it could expose ETH to deeper losses and reinforce the bearish short-term structure.
Psychological resistance: $2,400. ETH needs to reclaim this threshold and hold above it to signal that buyers are regaining control. A brief move above the level would not necessarily confirm a recovery; stronger follow-through would be needed.
Higher resistance: $2,490–$2,540. This zone corresponds approximately to the 50-day and 20-day exponential moving averages identified in recent analysis. A recovery toward this area would require ETH to overcome several overhead barriers.
