Story HighlightsOKXICE files with the SEC to launch a blockchain-based tokenized U.S. stock trading venue.
The platform plans to initially offer tokenized shares of 63 NYSE-listed companies.
Tokenized shares would include direct cash dividends and corporate voting rights for investors.
OKX, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has officially filed a notification with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a blockchain-based trading platform through its joint venture with ICE.
OKX plans to offer 24/7 trading of tokenized shares from 63 NYSE-listed companies, including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla.
OKX and ICE Plan Tokenized Stock Venue
OKXICE LLC, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the NYSE, filed its notification with the SEC on October 4, 2026.
The platform combines OKX’s digital-asset infrastructure with ICE’s traditional financial-market expertise. The two companies formed a joint venture in June.
The proposed platform would initially offer tokenized shares of 63 NYSE-listed companies. The list includes major technology companies as well as crypto-linked firms such as Strategy, Coinbase, Circle and BitGo.
Before trading begins, each company would have 30 days to object or opt out of having its shares offered on the platform.
Platform Could Bring Wall Street to 24/7 Trading
Unlike offshore stock tokens that generally track the price of traditional shares, OKXICE plans to create blockchain-based securities with shareholder rights.
Each tokenized share would carry rights to receive direct cash dividends and vote on corporate matters, according to the filing details provided.
The platform would operate around the clock, seven days a week. It plans to use permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer, with tokenized stocks paired against USDC, USDG, or USDT.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo described the move as “a major step forward for OKXICE” as it could help create “a truly global, 24/7 Wall Street.”
SEC Rules Set Limits on Tokenized Stocks
The filing uses the SEC’s five-year “Innovation Exemption” framework introduced on 17 September. The framework allows approved Tokenized Securities Venues to handle certain U.S. securities through blockchain-based systems.
However, the proposed market would face limits.
A tokenized venue can list up to 75 eligible stocks, and trading in an individual token cannot exceed 0.25% of that stock’s previous month’s total trading volume.
Meanwhile, these proposed venue still needs to move through the regulatory process before tokenized U.S. stocks can officially start trading.
