Ripple President Monica Long reportedly said at XRP Seoul on October 3 that the company plans to let payment customers use XRP held in lending pools as collateral for short-term financing. Eligible institutions could fund payment obligations without selling their underlying XRP. Ripple has reportedly begun testing the concept, with broader deployment targeted for 2027. The service is still in development, and no commitment to process trillions of dollars through XRP has been announced. Its impact will depend on institutional adoption, collateral requirements and implementation.
