XRP may need nearly three years to reclaim its all-time high, based on its previous price recovery cycles. Trading around $1.25, XRP price is approximately 65% below its record closing price of $3.55, recorded in July 2025. At the current price, XRP needs to rise approximately 184% to return to that level.
Advertisement Historical data shows that XRP recovered from all five completed major declines identified since 2018. However, those recoveries took between 132 days and 1,326 days, with an average recovery period of approximately 1,066 days.
This suggests XRP could take several years to revisit its previous high, although historical performance does not guarantee another recovery.
How Long Could XRP Take to Reach Its Previous All-Time High?
According to analyst cheeky crypto, XRP’s previous recovery cycles provide an indication of how long investors may have to wait.
Binance daily closing prices identified six occasions when XRP fell at least 60% below its previous peak. Five of these declines have been completed, and XRP eventually returned to its previous high in all five cases.
The recovery periods were:
Fastest recovery: 132 days.
Slowest recovery: 1,326 days.
Average recovery: 1,066 days, or nearly three years.
However, XRP’s recovery was not immediate. In four of the five completed cases, its price remained below the previous peak one year after crossing the 60% decline threshold.
The January 2018 decline was even more severe. XRP lost approximately 96% from its peak and took around seven and a half years to return to that price level.
These examples show that XRP could recover its previous high, but investors may need to wait longer than a year.
What XRP Price Must Reach Before Returning to $3.55
At around $1.25, XRP has several price levels to reclaim before reaching its previous all-time high.
$1.42: XRP needs to recover approximately 14% to move above this historical decline threshold.
$1.57: This is the highest closing price recorded after the August low.
$1.99: A move above this level would end the current decline under the analysis’s historical criteria.
$3.55: XRP’s previous record closing price, requiring a 184% gain from $1.25.
XRP previously reached a low of $0.99 on August 16, approximately 72% below its record high. The price has already fallen around 30% below the $1.42 threshold.
A move above $1.42 would be an early sign of recovery, but XRP would still need to clear $1.99 before approaching its previous high.
Can XRP Reach a New All-Time High in 2027?
Historical data offers three possible price scenarios for XRP over the next year. These are based on previous price movements, not guaranteed targets.
