Bitcoin rose 3.4% to more than $86,000 ahead of the U.S. jobs report, while gains across the broader crypto market signaled growing appetite for risk.

But there’s one signal that doesn’t confirm the strength. Bitcoin’s price is rising, while 1-year Apparent Demand has declined by roughly 980K BTC. Price up, underlying demand trending down. That divergence is worth monitoring.
Bitcoin traders are sitting on their largest unrealized profits since May 2025. The 1-3 month holder cohort now has an average Unrealized Profit Margin of 24%. That puts recent buyers in a highly profitable position.
Bitcoin realized profits are accelerating. Net Realized Profit/Loss reached $10.7B over the last 30 days, the highest 30-day profit realization since November 2025. Elevated, but still relatively modest compared with major bull-market peaks.
Bitcoin’s MVRV Z-Score just broke ABOVE its 365-day average. Historically, reclaiming this moving average has been an important shift in market momentum. Now the key is whether Bitcoin can stay above it.
